National Mosque Abuja suspends daily, Friday prayers indefinitely

Authorities of the National Mosque, Abuja have announced the suspension of the five daily and Juma’at prayers as part of measures to curb the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic in the country.

In a statement on Monday, the management of the mosque said with effect from March 23rd, not only prayers, the open space markets and restaurants attached to the mosque are also to be closed.

“In view of the current health issue, COVIC-19 crisis, the National Mosque management has decided to suspend the five day congregational and Jumu’ah prayers, gatherings and other activities in the mosques and its environs. Open space markets and restaurants attached to the mosque are also to be closed. While praying that Allah (SWT) to protect us from this pandemic and guide us aright, we kindly solicit for corporation and understanding of worshipers and the general public in this regard,” the statement read.
