“Covid-19 is getting worse globally” – WHO

The World Health Organization (WHO) has revealed that the COVID-19 situation is getting worse around the world.
WHO chief, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, told a virtual news conference in Geneva on Monday that 100,000 cases have been reported on nine of the past 10 days.
“Although the situation in Europe is improving, globally it is worsening.
More than 100,000 cases have been reported on nine of the past 10 days. Yesterday, more than 136,000 cases were reported — the most in a single day so far,” Ghebreyesus said.
After East Asia, Europe became the epicentre of the disease, but it has now been overtaken by the Americas adding that almost 75 percent of Sunday’s cases came from 10 countries, mostly in the Americas and South Asia.
