Rape allegation: D’banj sues Miss Seyitan for N1.5B
Popular Nigerian singer, D’banj has sued his rape accuser, Miss Seyitan Babatayo for N1.5B.
In a previous lawsuit, D’banj had requested a N100M compensation from the accuser and an apology through her lawyers but now he is seeking the whooping sum of N1.5B for overall damages.
“An order directing the defendant to pay the claimant, the sum of #1, 000,000,000.00 (One Billion Naira) only, representing general damages over the untold embarrassment, derision, public ridicule, odium, obloquy, marital disharmony, mental agony and psychological trauma which the defendant’s tweets and publication have caused the claimant,” the document read in part.
The singer further demanded N500 million for “aggravated, punitive, and exemplary damages.”
The statement from his legal team says the singer wants the court to order Miss Babatayo to tender “a letter of unreserved apology for the offensive tweets and posts”.
The singer also wants “an order of perpetual injunction restraining the defendant from further publishing, tweeting or posting offensive libelous statements.”
Why are girls doing this just to get fame
That’s the huge amount of money, they should settle out of court.
You are creating more problem by this suit. What do u hope to gain by demanding what u can never get. Where do u expect the girl to get the money to pay u. Your lawyers are misleading you to eat ur money. You will end up in jail if u dont thread softly and ask the girl to settle out of court
