Police arrest young man for inflicting injury with hot knife on a 10-year-old over tea
24- year-old Badmus Folarin has been arrested by men of the Ogun state police for inflicting injury with a hot knife on the buttocks of 10-year-old Sunday David for allegedly licking from a tin of tea at their home situated at Elegushi Street, Owode-Yewa, Yewa South Local Government Area of the state.
According to a statement by the spokesperson of the state Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, Folarin was arrested following a distress call from a neighbour and will be transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and possible prosecution while David has been taken to the hospital for treatment.
“The suspect was arrested following a distress call received by the DPO Owode Egbado division, Olabisi Elebutte, from a concerned neighbour.
“He reported through a telephone call that they could hear a sorrowful cry of a boy at No 12 Elegushi Street, Owode-Yewa, consequent upon which the DPO detailed the patrol team to the scene where the young boy was seen lying down helplessly with serious injuries all over his body.
“On enquiry, it was discovered that the suspect put a knife on fire and when the knife was red hot, he applied it to the buttocks of the boy, thereby inflicting second degree injuries on the innocent boy.
”During interrogation, the suspect alleged that the victim, who is living with the family, opened a tin of Milo tea belonging to the suspect’s mother and licked from it.”
Government should do something about those people inflicted injury to their maid or another person’s children, they should come out with strict law to protect those children without that, those idiot will continue nflicted the pain on those children.
Is that enough reason for such barbaric act
Thank God the culprit has come of age to answer for his crime. Imagine one with evil thought to put a knife in the fire like a blacksmith to get the knife red hot and apply it on a bar skin of a minor just for licking tea. He ought to be sentenced accordingly
Our moral decadence in this country is on the high
