NDDC: Protect Joy Nunieh and allow her face the probe in peace – Nigerian Women tell Buhari

The National Council of Women Societies (NCWS), has called on the Federal Government to protect Joy Nunieh, a former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), from all forms of harassment and intimidation while she faces probe.
Mrs Laraba Shoda, president of the NCWS made this call in a statement.

She advised that Nunieh should be allowed to face the alleged NDDC fraud probe in peace without any intimidation or harassment and if found guilty will face the full force of the law.

“All forms of harassment and intimidations should stop. We are not against her being probed, but what we do not want is for her to be harassed in any way.

“The Senate Committee should be allowed to do proper investigations into the alleged misappropriation of funds, and if she is found guilty, the law should take its cause.”

Shoda also commended Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State for rescuing Nunieh from “house arrest” on Thursday.

“We are calling on President Muhammadu Buhari, having constituted a committee to end all forms of Gender-Based Violence (GBV), to protect Nunieh and allow her to face the probe in peace.

“It’s bad enough that she is undergoing a probe, but harassment will be too much for her to bear.

“We should please understand that she is a woman and needs our protection,” she added

  1. Why are they intimidating this woman? They should not intimidate this woman and they should allow her to say whatever she knows about the issue on ground, let her pour her mind out if and only if we are seeking for justice in this country. Presidency should protect this woman from any external forces that may gang up on her.

  2. In the picture above, Buhari is shocked to hear this coucil of women make this demand. He is wondering how on earth women should demand for the right of one of their own who is under probe. In his state of shock, he wondere why these women should leave the kitchen where they belong to make such demand. Can someone else see what i see in the picture above. Shocked president isnt it?

  3. Why Are They Intimidating This Woman? They Should Not Intimidate This Woman And They Should Allow Her To Say Whatever She Knows About The Issue On Ground, so that we can tackle this issue once and for all
