100% increase in train fare is unfair, insensitive – Shehu Sani tells Amaechi

Former Kaduna Lawmaker, Shehu Sani has lamented on the 100% increase in train fare in the country.

Minister of Transport, Chibuike Amaechi had announced a 100% increment in train fare for the Abuja to Kaduna service, according to him the increase is due to the Covid-19 pandemic as there will be a decrease in passengers from 88 to just 40 passengers.

Reacting to this, Shehu Sani in a tweet said the development was unjust, unfair, and insensitive given that people are suffering already due to the recent coronavirus pandemic.
He also advised the transportation Minister to make things easier for the people, adding that tables might turn any day.

His tweet:

”To the transportation minister Chibuike Amaechi and the ministry; 100% increase in train fare is unjust, unfair, soulless & insensitive.

“Make things easier for the people when you are on top of the rock of power, you will meet with them when you are back to the base of life.”

  1. They should take more from those who are wealthy than the poor masses. Inflation rises everyday, no dividend of democracy for the citizens then what are we going to enjoying in this country. May Almighty God have mercy on us

  2. And this is how the minister want to become Igbo president come 2023. Apc led government is insesitive about peoples plight. They increase the prices of virtually everything yet they are borrowing like tomorrow no dey. Look at the price of Petrol pump price, VAT, Electricity tarriff, even our calls are taxed. They never cared about the masses. My question is is this government running this country and its citizens on Profit and Loss business schedule. All the legacies left behind by past administrations has been eroded by this government and impoverished the masses
