Rape: Dress in appropriate clothing – Victoria Inyama tells ladies

Former Nollywood Actress, Victoria Inyama has advised ladies to dress appropriately to avoid getting raped as there has been over 4000 rape cases across the country since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in February.

In a video she shared via Instagram, she said appropriate dressing will help reduce triggers from rape perpetrators as the government has no plan to put a fixed penalty to rape.

She shared the video with the caption:
”Appropriate Dressing & Comportment

It’s obvious to me that the Nigerian government is not really ready to put a fixed penalty to Rape and so l beg my ladies (minus the minors or aged victims) to plsssss dress in appropriate clothing so as to reduce the trigger for the perpetrators……A lot of these Perpetrators have underlying mental health issues & being around them in certain clothing is a trigger…..sadly the victim still gets to be shamed & ridiculed, so since this government is Not ready to do much, it would be wise to safeguard yourself.

Yes it’s not about the dressing some will say & compare with Europe & America but remember they take Rape cases seriously unlike Nigerian…..Think about it” she wrote

  1. Though it might be one of the factors mitigate against raping but what of those ones raping one year old baby, is that one dress improperly? Absolutely no, government should come up with strict law that will curb this atrocities committed by all these evil people.
