It is a sin to capture and upload Pictures on Social Media – Religious Scholar

Facebook user and religious scholar, Abiona Taofeek Altruist says capturing and posting pictures on social media is a sin.

Taofeek who is the founder of Altruist Education and Business Institute, in a post on Facebook frowned at those who post pictures on Facebook and blessed “brothers and sisters” who have never uploaded their photo on social media.

He further added that Allah will forgive the shortcomings of those who share pictures on social media if they repent and turn back to their lord.

He wrote;

“May Allah bless those brothers and sisters who have not for once uploaded their pictures on social media, and may He soften the heart of those stubborn people who are so fond of doing it. Just stop capturing a picture, it’s indéed a great sin. Repent now and turn back to Your Lord[Allah]. May Allah forgive our shortcomings, give us the best understanding of His Deen[Islam] and preserve us upon sunnah and goodness.”

  1. This is awkward. Just because you detest something doesn’t make it a sin, and I don’t think there is a place in your Quran that supports your notion.
