Edo Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu alleges assassination plot against high profile personalities in the state

Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu has alleged that there is a plot to assassinate high-profile personalities in the state.

Speaking at a press conference in Benin city,  the Deputy Governor called on President Muhammadu Buhari to charge security agencies to “do their work because Edo will not be a theatre of war if these things are dealt with.”

He said;

“We have intelligence that some individuals are in Edo state and their assignment is to come and assassinate some known individuals in the state.

“So I am hereby bringing to the notice of the general public that these people are in town and we’ve communicated to the security agencies about their activities and why they are in town.

“For us, we will continue to appeal to our people not to look for trouble, not to disturb any program. We are law-abiding. We have a duty to protect lives and properties. That we will continue to do.”

  1. As you allegedly said, you should stand up to your responsibilities by securing lives and properties. Moreso, you should have meeting with those security chiefs in your state in order to prevent the occurrence of what you said.

  2. Government of the state should do the needful, because lives must not lost at this time. As chief security of the state you should take charge and include the local vigilantes in order to secure lives and properties.

  3. I hate to hear this type of news
    I think we should have gone pass this level of talk in our political life
    Leadership is designed to make a society better and in extension improve the lives of the citizens and not to cause problems and war
    If someone kills to assend to a position of leadership, what type of leader will that individual be
    Let us all say no to killings

  4. Thank you for coming out to talk. Now its time for action. May God help us. This democracy uses people lives to run itself
