Chairman of Ikere Local Government, Mr Femi Ayodele has been suspended by the Ekiti state house of assembly over an unauthorized presidential campaign for Governor Fayemi

Ayodele has sponsored posters campaigning for Fayemi to contest as a presidential candidate under the platform of the All progressives congress, APC with a tagline that read “Support His Excellency Dr. John Kayode Fayemi for President 2023.”

Following a motion titled “Calling for investigation into the alleged unsolicited and unauthorised campaign in the media in flagrant disregard to Extant Regulations by Chairman, Ikere Local Government Area, Mr. Femi Ayodele”.

The motion was moved by the Majority Leader of the Assembly, Chief Gboyega Aribisogan and seconded by Mr Tajudeen Akingbolu, Ekiti West Constituency 1, APC.

The lawmakers unanimously agreed to suspend the council chairman pending the completion of the assembly’s investigation on the matter insisting that Ayodele’s action was ill-concieved and is flagrantly antithetical to the extant provisions of the Electoral Act, 2010 as amended.

  1. This kind attitude can cause division among party members if care is not taking, they are still battling with some issues and you are still about to create another. That’s good of him.

  2. Most of these politicians are self centered they want everything to their own which is not suppose to be. You have not true with what you are doing and you are still agitating for another. That serves him right and it should serve as lesson to others.

  3. Must he have done this without reason. I feel that there must be an unseen hand backing it
What has the governor said about it
Who knows if this chairman is doing this by his hidden support
All the same let them finish carrying out their investigations and come out with their findings
It is highly annoying that 2023 is still very far and they have started campaigning for it

  4. All things are subjective, a person’s circumstances has nothing to do with current or past events, but rather their perception of those events, and the attitude and manner in which they choose to approach it
