Six suspects have been apprehended and paraded by the Edo State police for the rape and killing of UNIBEN undergraduate, Vera Omozuwa inside a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

After months of investigation, the state police command has arrested and paraded the suspects identified as Nelson Ogbebor, Akato Valentine, Mrs Tina Samuel, Mrs Mary Ade, Nosa Osabohien and Collins Ulegbe.

A breakthrough in the investigation came after the police traced the phone of the deceased to one of the suspects, Nosa Osabohien.

Nosa who claimed to be a phone repairer said he bought Vera’s phone from Collins Uyegbulen, who was arrested and confessed to being a part of the murder.

Collins told the police that he used the fire extinguisher in the church to hit late Vera after the other suspects took turns to rape her. He gave the names of other members of his gang as Akato Valentine and Collins Ogbebor.

He also said that one Mary Ade gave them N1m to kill the suspect and then use a handkerchief she gave them to clean the blood from the private part of the deceased.

Another suspect, Tina Samuel, was arrested for allegedly obstructing the police from arresting her son, Lucky, who is one of the suspects.

  1. Police should immediately charge them to court without delay after the completion of their investigation. Because of 1m naira you took a life that you can’t create, it’s very sad.

I’m using this medium to appeal to police not to sweep this case under carpet, after the completion of their investigations they should charge them to court without delay because justice delay is justice denied. These people are very weaked by taking a precious life that can’t be given by anyone. Justice should prevail.

    This is touching, so so touching indeed. I don’t know why some people take delight in terminating other people’s lives. A life they did not create
    See how they terminated this young ladies live prematurely for no just reason
    The police should do all it takes to prosecute these wicked souls and deal with them all severely and accordingly so as to act as a detriment to other criminals who might be nursing the feelings to do this type of rubbish

  4. Thank God that the truth is out because at the early stage of the incident rumors has it that the pastor of the church was behind it. Police should charge the matter to court with an immediate effect

    What a world, because of 1m that would finish one day you kill someone,that can be a help to the society and world at large.

    Such a beautiful girl,her family would be in pains.
    It’s really a bad one,what is 1m? Compared to her life.
    God forgive us cause the sins are getting much.
