Tolu Ogunlesi, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal assistant on new media has reacted to a pronouncement by the Lagos state CAN Chairman, Alex Bamgbola on Former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani Kayode.

In a video circulating online, Bamgbola was heard saying that Fani Kayode will rule Nigeria if he remains humble, he made the declaration during a prayer for the former minister.

The pronouncement had stirred reactions from some Nigerians on social media who accused CAN of disgracing Christianity in the country and dragging itself into partisan politics.

Reacting, Ogunlesi wondered if CAN was still a Christian body.

Sharing a video of the prayer session, on his verified Twitter handle, the presidential aide wrote: “Is the C in CAN still for “Christian” or have they changed it to something else”

  1. Yes why not if he ready to bring Change to the people …..because we need definate Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future!

  2. Even, I don’t think this issue needs to be causing stir here and there. Even this does not concern government, government should face governance squarely instead dazzle into what you are less concerned, there are so many things that is causing issues in Nigeria that needs urgent attention. I implore them to face governance squarely.

  3. I am not bordered about what the Lagos CAN president said about Femi Fani Kayode but my concern is that I think the CAN President made a wrong choice of word by using an adjective as humble to qualify Femi
How can he say Femi is humble while all of us are aware of what conspired between him and a Daily Trust reporter some few weeks ago
To me Femi is not humble because he insults journalists

  4. Though, everybody entitle to his or opinions only if it’s the one that will cause division among her citizens it’s not acceptable. But what I could deduce from his statement is that he prayed for the government, I think what he would have say is that “your ambition will come to pass” basic. Religious leaders should just pray for politicians without mentioning any post would have been better, because this time around it’s difficult to separate politics from religion. Government should face governance completely.

  5. But this CAN sef they should remove eye from politics, but then you that is reacting Please after reacting let us know the outcome of the reaction. Becoz the country will like to know

  6. Tolu Ogunlesi has a point on what he ask, is absolutely a question and haven’t see anyone answer that question, but I will use this medium to answer the question. The “C be hind the “CAN still remain CHRISTIAN that make it CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA. You see we have freedom of speech in this country, can’t we even say our mind anymore, this is not matter of politics now, I think the man is praying for him, is absolutely a normal prayer. Thank you.

  7. How has the pronunciation affected the government or the C in CAN? I think this is meddling in what doesn’t concern one. He had better find something better to do or say?
