Kaduna State House of Assembly approves castration as punishment for Rapists
The Kaduna state House of Assembly has approved castration as punishment for anyone convicted of rape in the state.
This was according to a deleted tweet on the twitter handle of the assembly which stated that they gave the approval following the passage of a bill to amend the Kaduna state penal court law, 2017, on Thursday, September 10.

The majority leader of the assembly also tweeted about the development.
“A bill to amend the Kaduna State Penal Court Law No.5 of 2017 has yesterday 09/09/2020 been pass into Law by @Kadlegislature. The Bill Recommend total Castration for Rapist in the State,”
Governor Nasir El-Rufai, had also noted that the justice system of the state will no longer grant bail to rapists. He disclosed this when a group of women, advocating for justice for rape victims, staged a peaceful rally at the government house in Kaduna. According to Governor El-Rufai,
“In addition to life imprisonment or 21 years’ imprisonment, anyone convicted of rape will have his organ surgically removed so that even after he finishes his term, he will not be able to rape anyone again,” the governor had said.
So long as the tool exists, there is the likelihood that he may go back to do it again. Most of the perpetrators are young people, so even after 21 years, they can come back and continue.” he said
That is good,they should be duly punished.

It’s a good one and I hope people will desist from from raping all sorts of women i.e children, young ladies or old women. Welcome development. I hope it reduce it drastically.
It’s ok for passing such kind of bill in order to curb menace of raping in our society, as pass such bill how it would have been better if they also pass a bill that will allow them to kill corrupt politicians if also found guilty. People should stay away from raping.
That is good and once one person has been used as a statement then it will serve as lesson for others too
I think its a good idea If the action will be taken I think it will reduce the level of rapping in this country because the thing is now getting out of hand,to the extent 3 months old babies are now been defiled. And again let every other states apply the same thing to anybody caught rapping,,,,, because its not only in Kaduna State that this raping is happening.

Hmmmmm.. that’s harsh but I don’t think someone with he’s right senses after seeing the penalty for rape will still go ahead to commit such an abominable act.

I support the life inpreasment for the rapist. Kudos to Kaduna State House of Assembly and Governor Nasir Eil-Rufai. I pray God we change the rapist to good.
This is rather harsh. Another punishment should be served rather than this.

Very good decision taken. As for me, I was even recommending death penalty for rapists. They should not be given any mercy at all. This is man’s inhumanity against the human race and should be matched iron to iron so as to act as a detriment to other useless fools that will ever want to try such an aborminable act
