Breaking: I’m still studying results; will announce my next move soon– Ize-Iyamu

Hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, announced the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Godwin Obaseki, winner of Saturday’s gubernatorial election, the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Sunday said he was “studying the results”, noting that he would announce his next move.

Ize-Iyamu had yesterday commended the electoral process saying; ‘I am confident of a win this election’, “The process is good and going on smoothly; there is no thuggery and violence, the place is peaceful and calm.

“I am happy that INEC has a thermometer to check the temperature and they also give out face masks to our people. “We encourage our people to come out in batches so they can strictly adhere to the Covid-19 protocols of social distances”. Today, Obaseki secured 307,955 votes across 18 local government areas while Osagie Ize-Iyamu, polled 223,619. Governor Obaseki used a margin of 84,336 votes to defeat Pastor Osagie.

Reacting hours after the announcement, Ize-Iyamu via his twitter handle opined: “I thank and appreciate my supporters, who had to endure many evils including being prevented from voting, for their support and determination during the election. “I assure you all that I am studying the results along with other party members and will announce my next move soon.” See his tweet below:

  1. No one asked you not to study the results, we all know that the next line of action is to to the tribunal and nothing more or to totally accept the defeat. No problem you are free to do so, once you have already sent a congratulatory message to the winner. I will implore you to accept the will of God.

  2. Congratulations to the winner, which is obaseki. May Almighty God leads through your tenure and you shouldn’t let your people down and more so, you should not allow your people to regretting for voted for you. It will be a good one to justify the trust that they have in you. POI should consede the deafeat and accept the will of God. No problem you can go to the tribunal the establish your fact.

  3. Okay…o
Study the results well and tell us your next move.
As far as your next move is in line with your constitutional right, no problem, all we want is peace and nothing else
Let Edo be the first in your mind and don’t move for your selfish interests

  4. See pastor Ize-Iyamu, you have to accept the defeat, is not PDP or Obaseki but is God if you are still interested in politics you have kew and for your time, my advice for you is to submit your self to Obaseki and work with him to move Edo State forward.

  5. You better accept the defeat and move on with your life… You can still try again next time…. Obaseki defeats you hands down because Edo people loves him

  6. What are you studying again or are you now a Jehovah Witness man that do study? You have been defeated just accept the defeat, abi do you want to become a supreme Court Governor? I know that Edo people will not agree to that, they won’t keep calm like that state that has a Supreme Court Governor(SCG). So you better accept defeat and go back to your church members that you left and entered into politics.

  7. There must always be a winner in every race so u just have to work with him there’s nothing u can do anymore. U can’t compare broom to umbrella in rainy season

  8. Action Is To To The Tribunal And Nothing More Or To Totally Accept The Defeat. No Problem You Are Free To Do So, Once You Have Already Sent A Congratulatory Message To The Winner
