Ayade orders house-to-house search of looted items in Cross River

Governor of Cross River state, Ben Ayade has ordered a house-to-house search of looted items and properties in Calabar, Cross River state capital. This is coming after hoodlums invaded and looted 35 government properties and vandalized private properties in the state.

In a statement released by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Christian Ita, he gave the security agents a marching order to begin house to house search for the stolen items.

“Following the deployment of more soldiers to Calabar to help quell violence, Cross River Governor, Sir Ben Ayade has asked security agencies in the State to take legitimate actions to halt the arson and carnage witnessed in some parts of Calabar.

“The governor also wants the security agents to carry out a house to house search for looted property and arrest everyone involved in the looting of both public and private property in the state” the statement reads in part

  1. It has started already and yielding great result. I live near one of the looted warehouses at NDDC office area and we discovered this morning that many have returned stolen items littering all around the premises.

  6. Though, I’m not in support of looting another person’s property and tag it as protesting. Government should do anything in their capacity to brought them to book.

  7. Looting is not part of fighting for the freedom of the people, this is also another Injustice we are talking about, they should face the full wrath of law.

  8. If it’s only palliative they looted, we may say it’s because of hunger but including another person’s property that so sad. They need to the searching because it’s worth it.

You don’t have the right to arrest them for government property especially the palliative items…. because I don’t know the reason why you will keep the palliative items that made for the citizen without share it to everyone. I’m not talking about the private organization that they were hijacked…any citizen that were court should be hold Tite….the person is a big thief. They must not go free.

  11. Is proper like that…but you can only arrest does theift the private sector property not the own of government… because is owned by the citizen.
