Bride Price is only Paid for Virgins – Omokri
Former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri has expressed that bride price should only be paid for virgins.
The Amazon best-selling author and lawyer rubbed some people in the wrong way as he made the controversial remark via Twitter on Saturday including some bible verses and quotes to back up his claim
He wrote;
“What I am going to say will shock people. Scripturally, Bride Price is ONLY paid for virgins. Don’t argue with me. Argue with God. See Exodus 22:16-17. By virtue of Scripture (and also in traditional African society), you pay no Bride Price for non virgins. #RenosNuggets #EndSARS”
Reno omokiri with things every day, the God says if you want marry, Bride price should be paid to the wife and do whatever the family of groom request of.
What you are insinuating is that if the wife to be is not a virgin, we should not her bride price. That means the wife is not legitimate marry to any person who doesn’t pay the bride price.
If divorcee seen another husband, are stylish telling the person not to pay the bride price of the lady or what. There are lots of circumstances that could warrant of losing virginity not only improper sex.
Virginity is cherish by Almighty God and should be protected but things have changed now, some doesn’t even value it. If you want to marry Bride price is compulsory.
