We have called the Chinese – Amaechi apologizes after Abuja-Kaduna Train broke down
Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has apologized to Nigerians following the train breakdown recorded between November 18 and November 20.
The Minister who made the plea at Moniya rail station during the routine inspection of the ongoing rail project in Ibadan, disclosed that they’ve invited the Chinese
Amaechi said;
“I want to apologise to Nigerians for what happened at the Abuja-Kaduna rail station.
“We now have new locomotives and we have called the Chinese because we never expected the mechanical fault at this early stage.
“On behalf of the Federal Government, the ministry, and the Nigerian Railway Corporation, we apologise to Nigerians and I have instructed the NRC to fix it or invite the Chinese.
“If this is happening now, then they should bring back our old locomotives, it will just affect turnaround times because we get the new locomotive to increase the turnaround time.”
The Minister also advocated for an increased pace of work by the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation. Amaechi who noted that the COVID-19 pandemic was no longer an excuse, said an increased pace of work will lead to the delivery of the job on time.
Can you hear yourself, early break down of what you are still testing run. That means the one you people brought to Nigeria is not good at all.
What would you say if anything happens to those who were stranded at the bush? Only apologize, can apologize heal their wound? Corruption everywhere.
If just acquired train started faulty now, what would be the faith if we have been using it. We borrowed money from them, they are the one also in charge of the rail project. Hope you people are sharing the money among yourself.
Hope this kind of situation won’t repeat itself? You people have borrowed a lot not to talk of what you borrowed the money for it is not working accordingly, this is not what we bargain for. We are the one to pay the money with our tax not you people.
