Court to begin Nnamdi Kanu’s trial in absentia

The Federal High Court in Abuja is scheduled to begin the trial of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu on Thursday November 26 .

Justice Binta Nyako on March 28, 2019 had revoked the bail granted the IPOB leader, ordered his arrest, and directed that his trial on charges of a treasonable felony would proceed in his absence. The court however has not had any sitting on the case since then.

Five prosecution witnesses have been lined up to testify against Nnamdi Kanu. Copies of the hearing notice were served on the prosecution team in the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation and Kanu’s lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor

  2. That’s good of him and let’s see how it will go because I don’t understand the reason you will be on exile and continue instigating your people against their government.

  3. In the first instance, why is he on the run? He should come back and face his trial if he does not have any skeleton in his cupboard.
