“If I wasn’t educated, I wouldn’t be standing here” – Buhari urges Kankara Boys to return to School

President Muhammadu Buhari has appealed to the rescued students of Government Science Secondary School in Kankara, Katsina State, to return to school.

Speaking on Friday when he met with the students at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Katsina State, the President urged them to remain focused in pursuing their interest in acquiring a good education. According to him, the unfortunate incident was a test of character and determination to succeed in life.

“If I wasn’t educated, I will not be standing here today in front of you. I schooled in Katsina for nine years. I moved on to join the army, served as a governor, Head of State, went to prison, came out, and later joined politics.

“I contested presidential elections three times, and finally I was declared a winner in 2015,” he was quoted as saying in a statement by his media aide, Garba Shehu.

He also assured the students that the Federal Government would upgrade the security structure in the country to ensure more safety of the people.

  1. Appealing to the students to go back to school is fine, nice and good, but what matters most is providing adequate security for the boys
Someone must be alive to acquire education
Education is very important but life is more important than it

  2. You are encouraging them to further their education and the ASUU has been on strike more than ten months, what is the faith of those in our university present now not to talk of those students you were addressed.

  3. With the level of difficulties that the teachers were facing throughout the federation, you can’t deceive us any more. How many of you people ruling us have university certificate? Most of you are using NEPA bill.

  4. We are now in civilized period which you can’t deceive us, university lecturers are on strike, you neglected them and you still have the guts to tell those students to continue further their education, you are a big disappointment to us.

  5. Yes we know education is the key but the rate of insecurity in the northern area of Nigeria is becoming too much and how children they will be afraid of going back to school and that is why most of the northerners are not educated this is because of how invaluable education is in that area
