“Coronavirus, Hunger killing Nigerians but your faves are only talking about the virus”– Seun Kuti
Nigerian Afrobeats musician, Seun Kuti, has spoken up for the hungry masses in Nigeria who have been ignored due to the impact of COVID-19.
Taking to his Insta-story, he noted that privileged people are creating awareness about COVID-19 but ignoring the hunger in the land because it does not affect them.
In his words;
“CORONA IS REAL AND KILLING US. I LIKE THE ZEAL THAT OUR FAVES ARE USING TO TELL US ABOUT IT HUNGER BEEN KILLING US TOO THO AND IF ALL DIE NA DIE WHERE IS THE ZEAL THERE? OR THIS IS JUST BECAUSE CORONA CAN KILL YOU TOO BUT HUNGER DEY KILL ONLY POOR MAN?“
That’s truth of it, there are plenty hunger in the land but ignored by our leaders and concentrate on COVID-19 pandemic because it is the one that can have effect on them.
When they are not really affected they are getting whatever they want as free of charge, how would hunger concern them? They have nothing to offer except their selfish interest.
Even with the money getting from outside to cater for her citizens, they are just Pocketing it and neglected the citizens that are hungry when they are less concerned.
America gave Americans $600 and $250 per head adult and children once you have the citizenship but here in Nigeria they are just compounding our suffering by increasing the electricity tariff, insecurities and above all hunger in the land. Our government doesn’t ready to cater for us.
That is true and those useless politicians only cares about their pockets….
