Sex Party: Kaduna Government violated a law Governor El-Rufai signed by demolishing Asher Kings and Queens Restaurant – Femi Falana

Human Rights advocate, Mr Femi Falana has expressed disapproval over the demolition of a restaurant in Kaduna to be used for a sex party.

According to him, the Kaduna state Governor violated Section 79 of the Kaduna State Urban and Regional Planning Law, 2018, which Governor Nasir el-Rufai personally signed by demolishing Asher Kings and Queens Restaurant.

The Director-General of the Kaduna State Urban Development and Planning Authority (KASUPDA), Ismail Umar-Dikko’s had claimed that the building didn’t have a valid title or development permit.

Reacting to this, Falana argued that the law which was signed by El-Rufai in 2018 does not allow for demolition of anyone’s property adding that they should have prosecuted those involved in the supposed sex party and not demolishing the building.

He said;

“The law which was signed by El-Rufai in 2018 does not allow for demolition without a notice. Section 79 of the law is clear. No governor has the right to authorise a demolition of the property of anyone.

“The governor cannot be the accuser, the prosecutor, the judge and the executor the judgment. All the states in Nigeria have similar laws, whether in Rivers or Lagos. None has the power to pull down the property of any citizen who has not been given the opportunity of making a representation.

“No one is in support of sex parties taking place in the country but anyone found wanting should be arrested and prosecuted according to the law. They should have prosecuted those accused of committing the offence and not pulled down the building.”

  1. It’s a normal thing for a politician to break the law, but they will swear to protect it when a come man go against the law. This country no balance at all

  2. That’s it, there are many laws signed by the executives and still violate it, something meaningful must be done in order to prevent future occurrence by those executives that are taking law into their hands.

  3. Not only him (El rufai), that is how many of them are doing when it comes to exercise power on the citizens which are powerless over them but there is God.

  4. If the government is taking to court and asked to pay compensation, Who is going to enforce it on them, nobody. I know one Almighty God will come to our rescue.

  5. There are many politicians who violates law and nobody to prosecute them but when it comes to Nigerians they will start flex muscles, instead of arresting them and prosecute them in the court of law but the reverse is the case.
