Bishop Kukah won’t apologise, leave Sokoto – Fani-Kayode
Former Aviation Minister, Fani Kayode has faulted the call by a Muslim group that Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Mathew Kukah should leave the state, following his Christmas message.
The Muslim Solidarity Forum, Sokoto, had advised Kukah to quietly leave Sokoto or stop what it termed “his malicious vituperations against Islam and Muslims” adding that the Bishop should tender an unreserved apology to the Muslim community.
Reacting to this in a series of tweets, Fani-Kayode insisted that Bishop Kukah did not attack Muslims in his Christmas message, hence has nothing to apologise for.
He wrote;
“Bishop Hassan Kukah did not attack Islam and has nothing to apologise about.
“He has always sought for religious tolerance and peaceful co-existence between Christians and Muslims. Those that demand that he, “must apologise” or “leave Sokoto” must mind their utterances and keep the peace.
“If anyone can provide me with a video of Kukah calling for violence against Muslims or inciting people against Islam,I will give him one million naira.”
Bishop kukah has nothing to apologize for, and if they insist he must leave sokoto, that means they are calling for division. I believe they don’t want that
Why people fighting on what doesn’t what it? Instead of focusing on how banish bokoharam and other security threat in their region they are fighting bishop kukah, this is bad.
Islam is religion of why is it that that peace doesn’t matter to you except violence. Those in that region need to think twice before taking any steps.
Instead of arguing or to cause another civil unrest in the state, he should report to the police to take necessary steps.
There is no need to apologise what the government needs to do is to address the issues he raised in his message not blaming him for it.
That is and and he should rather leave sokoto than apologize cuz he did nothing wrong….
Apologies are demanded when one is at fault. Bishop Kukah has challenged the moslem communities that have been attacking him over his new year message to tell him where he defamed Islam. These gullible fanatics are yet to take the challenge yet they are asking to tender unreserved apolopy,for what I don’t know
