Makinde says Foreigners fueling insecurity in Oyo, warns Monarchs
Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has kicked against traditional rulers who allow non-indigenes enter into their various domains without proper documentation.
In a statement made through the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Taiwo Adisa on Thursday, the Governor stated that some foreigners without proper documentation have infiltrated the state and are contributing to the rising insecurity in the state.
Makinde therefore warned monarchs in the state against allocating land to any foreigner without proper documentation noting that such would not be tolerated.
The governor assured that his administration would ensure that foreigners in the state were properly documented very soon.
That’s good development and I hope this will curb insecurity a little bit.
If you can enpower them and give them necessary support things will change.
Have you call on them and have meetings with them and put things in place to carry out this assignment.
Hope this is not media talk and I hope those Kings will discharge their duties according to the Constitution of the country.

Exactly…this is the governor I can hit my chest that is working. Is not only OYO state but entire obodo Nigeria.
It seems the governor is out of tune with the security situation of the country. Which proper documentation is he talking about. Do Fulani herdsmen that reside in the bush need documentation to enter the bush. Do bandits and criminals need documentation to enter their target places. The real Fulani herdsman is not voilet. He goes his business of herding his cows, but once he has misunderstang with any indgene of the state, he informs his master who in turn take the case to Mittey Allah who then organize a band of terrorists to invade the community, kill, Mame, rape and get away with little or no resistance. The Fulani herders will look innocent and pretend he doesn’t know what happened or who did. So for the governor to blame his traditional rulers smacks of his little knowledge of what is happening. The traditional ruler may know the local herders in his community who have been there for ages and these herders vouch for their families and colleagues in the that they are not voilent and are not the perpetrators. What each state need is its our security not the police that can not do anything
