Frank Lampard set to be sacked as Chelsea Coach and replaced by PSG’s Thomas Tuchel

Frank Lampard is reportedly set to be sacked today by Chelsea following the club’s slump in form that sees them sit ninth in the Premier League table.

According to Daily Telegraph, the board told players not to report to the training ground until Monday afternoon, January 25, as Lampard will become the 10th manager sacked during the Roman Abramovich era.

Confirmation of Lampard’s sacking is expected to be announced on Monday as the club take decisive action following a run of five losses in eight league games. Chelsea Sunday’s win over Luton Town took them to the fifth round of the FA Cup but it seems it was not enough to save the former midfielder from his job after only 18 months into his time as Chelsea manager.

Former Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund manager, Thomas Tuchel is reportedly in a prime position to replace Lampard as talks are currently ongoing.

  1. It is no more a news, Frank Lampard had already been sacked as head coach of Chelsea after managing it for 18 months.

  2. So sad to hear the news, the team has not been perform very well in recent time. Best luck to Thomas tuchel

  3. Chelsea board should have given lampard more time to arrange the team, instead of bringing this man that didn’t deliver at PSG a man that was sacked be PSG

  4. The problem of Chelsea FC did not start with Frank Lampark and definitely will not end with his sack. Chelsea is a club where one man call the shit and takes decision all alone. Lampard made mistake by abandoning the young players that brought Chelsea to top Four last season and went for big established players. These big plagers need time to blend and perform but Abramovic is not the type that have all the patient for managers. You neither perform or get booted out. Frank did not perform and was kicked out. Chelsea is at the middle of the table and Abramovic is not comfortable with that. Lampard out, Tuchel in. Let’s see Tuchel do it
