“Don’t draw me into 2023 presidential race” – Ortom tells Supporters

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has debunked reports making rounds that he is aspiring to take part in the 2023 presidential race.

Speaking in a statement by through his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, on Monday, the governor made it known that his focus at the moment is to deliver good governance to the good people of Benue State.

Ortom expressed his gratitude to the people of Benue for their support on his administration, adding that he still has two and half years to complete his tenure and is committed to doing better within the time left.

He said:

“I appreciate my supporters and interest groups who have taken to social media to call on me to join the 2023 Presidential race.

“However, I still have two and half years to complete my mandate as Governor and I am committed to greater service of the State.

“I also thank Benue people for the support given to my administration to succeed,” Ortom added.

  1. You are one of the leaders who knows what they doing not other ones that have not even reach half of the road and still eyeing 2023.

  2. May God bless you telling them the truth of the matter, those who are calling you to vie for 2023 post are also the one to abandon you when the time comes.

  3. You better don’t listen to them because they want you to fail woefully, face your state and deliver the dividends of democracy to them.

  4. When your state have not enjoyed the dividends of Democracy and some evil people are now asking you to go for president, wickedness everywhere.

  5. Person that failed to rule a state is talking about ruling the country. Nobody will drag you but your conscience will tell you if you qualified for such position. When you took over from Susan under APC we thought you will turn Benue to small London but alas, your six years in that state is pure waste. No visible projects, no good road, nothing to show. Herdsmen are still terrorising your state despite your ban in open grazing which has no effect. Pls don’t bring your mediocrity to Abuja. Better stay focused on your state government for you lack modern ideas to make things move
