If coup plotters are pardoned, why not bandits – Gumi
Popular Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has once again called out that bandits be granted amnesty.
He said if the government could pardon coup plotters that committed treasonable felony, there was nothing wrong with extending the same gesture to bandits.
The Islamic cleric made this remark while responding to the Christian Association of Nigeria in Kaduna on Thursday who called for his arrest over his statements.
Gumi in a recent statement called for Nigerians to live in peace and for that to happen there was a need to forgive bandits.
He added, “Even those that instigated civil war, the civil war that millions of people died, were pardoned. I see no reason why we cannot accept their (bandits) repentance and give them amnesty.”
you indeed need to be imprisoned cuz you are supporting those bandits….
Government should examine this man very well wether he doesn’t have anything to do with these bandits.
Something must be done before getting out of hand
Does he think what those bandits are is good or what does he mean? Pardoning bandits will be a great mistakes.
If gumi is not sick, then he is the one behind the banditry in the country
