My husband never paid bride price, I didn’t kneel for him – Nigerian Feminist who got married says

A young lady, Nkechi Bianze, on Sunday, July 18, shared some details about her wedding ceremony which took place on Saturday, June 17 in Delta State.

Nkechi in a post on Facebook said her husband who is an indigene of Imo state did not pay her bride price. She said she never knelt to offer her husband a drink according to the popular rite of the Igbo traditional wedding.

The new wife said that they took out some things from the custom and traditions of her people in such a way that suited them.

She wrote;

“Yesterday, the 17th of July 2021, all roads led to Owa (Agbor) Delta State as family and friends joined the Love of my Life and I as we got married.

“He is from Mbaise, Imo State.
No bride price was paid.
And I did NOT kneel down to give him drink. We BOTH STOOD up to drink.

The Traditional Wedding was done according to the custom and traditions of my people, and we edited bits to suit us. Official photos to come soon.
