Obiano has been granted bail but we await when he fulfils his bail conditions – EFCC chairman, Bawa reveals

The chairman of the Economic and Financial crimes commission EFCC, Bawa Abdulrasheed has revealed that Former Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano has been granted bail.

Speaking on Monday at the 5th Annual General Assembly of the Network of National Anti-corruption Institutions in West Africa (NACIWA), Bawa said what was left was for Obiano to fulfil his bail conditions.

“Nothing political about the arrest of the former Anambra State Governor, Wille Obiano. He has been granted bail. But we await (when) he fulfils his bail conditions,” he said

Obiano is being quizzed over the alleged misappropriation of N42 billion belonging to the state and also over the alleged misapplication of N5 billion Sure-P and N37 billion security vote, withdrawn in cash.
