I am your President, I will leave Sanwo-Olu to give you back your banter and response – Tinubu tells Wike

President-elect, Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, took a dig at Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, but rather than responding to Wike’s comments directly, Tinubu said he would leave it to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State to reply.

During the commissioning of the Rumuokwuta/Rumuola flyover in Port Harcourt, Tinubu explained that as the President-elect, he would not engage in a verbal exchange with Wike. Tinubu expressed his gratitude to Wike for the preparations made to welcome him to the state and declared himself a happy man.

He said; “It’s on the strength of your character that I stand to fulfil the promise I made during the campaign. I’m happy we have been able to establish a relationship but I will leave Sanwo-Olu to give you back your banter and response. I’m the President-elect, your president.

“It’s a great honour and moment for me, I see all the preparations, the declaration of public holidays, the banner on poles, the signs all over and I’m a very happy man.”
