Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the spokesperson for NEF, expressed his disapproval, stating that Tinubu’s decision does not provide a favorable beginning for his administration.

During his inauguration on Monday, Tinubu announced the termination of the fuel subsidy regime. He stated that the funds previously allocated to fuel subsidies would be redirected to infrastructure development projects throughout the country.

However, Baba-Ahmed expressed his concern over the sharp increase in fuel prices following Tinubu’s announcement.

“Booby-trapped, or just plain lack of experience, the skyrocketing rise in prices of petrol following President Tinubu’s comment on the absence of budgetary provision for fuel subsidy does not give the new administration a good start.Getting out will be tougher than staying put, he stated
