In 1999, Obasanjo was elected as the President of Nigeria and served for eight years. However, in the 2023 election, President Bola Tinubu emerged as the victor amidst significant controversy. The opposition challenged Tinubu’s victory in court, alleging electoral fraud and claiming that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) manipulated the results to favor Tinubu.
