US Court grants Tinubu’s request to delay release of school records to Atiku

U.S. District Judge Nancy Maldonado has concurred to temporarily halt an order mandating Chicago State University (CSU) to furnish specific academic records belonging to Bola Tinubu, the current President of Nigeria.

Magistrate Judge Jeffrey Gilbert had instructed CSU to provide the documents by the end of Thursday in an order issued two days prior. However, during an urgent hearing on Thursday, as reported by CBS news, Judge Maldonado instructed attorneys from both sides to submit additional arguments by the following Thursday.

The legal representatives of the Nigerian President contended that Gilbert’s decision needed a thorough review by a district judge. Maldonado granted their request and stated that she would render a prompt ruling after considering the additional arguments.

“I will have a busy weekend.

“The issue is of process and rules. I’m a rule person; that’s why I’m a judge. This case is quite involved. I am aware of the stakes. It’s more important to me to get this right,” she held.
