Leah Sharibu reportedly divorces her partner, marries another ISWAP commander

Leah Sharibu, who endured five years in terrorists’ captivity, has reportedly entered into another union with an Islamist terrorist commander, having divorced her former spouse she was coerced into marrying, as stated by local security sources speaking to Daily Trust.

Leah was among the 110 female students from the Government Girls’ Science and Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State, who were abducted on February 19, 2018, by Boko Haram militants. She has been confined by members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) since then.

A few years back, several media outlets reported that Leah was forced into marriage. It has been learned that Leah, subsequent to her purported separation from Abdulrahman, has entered into another marital alliance with Ali Abdallah, an ISWAP commander based in the Lake Chad region

One of the security sources said, “Leah was first married to Abdulrahman after she allegedly converted to Islam and they have two children, all boys that were named after two Boko Haram commanders that were killed.

“We don’t know what transpired but Leah secured the divorce and married another commander, Ali Abdallah.”

The source said after her abduction, Leah was “trained” on how to administer some medical services to injured Boko Haram fighters and women.
