Supreme Court to deliver final verdict in Atiku, Obi’s petitions Oct 26

The Supreme Court has scheduled Thursday, October 26, as the date for issuing its conclusive verdicts on the remaining two legal challenges concerning the legitimacy of President Bola Tinubu’s declaration as the winner of the recent presidential election. These petitions were brought forth by Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Peter Gregory Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP).

Dr. Awemeri Festus Akande, the Director of Press and Information at the Supreme Court, confirmed this development on Wednesday. He also assured that thorough security measures have been implemented to prevent security breaches both inside and outside the court premises.

A panel of seven Justices, led by Justice John Inyang Okoro, concluded the reception of final arguments from the legal representatives of the involved parties on Monday and subsequently decided to reserve their judgments.
