“Japa-risation” should be addressed as a matter of emergency – Daniel Bwala tells FG

Daniel Bwala, a media aide to Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, has called on President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and the National Assembly to promptly address the issue of Nigerians migrating abroad.

Bwala expressed concern over the significant emigration of university staff and medical professionals due to inadequate, unpaid salaries, and unfavorable working conditions.

He shared on X that Nigerians, disillusioned by the challenging work environment in the country, are resigning from their positions and relocating abroad.

According to Bwala: “Frustration and mass resignation hitting public universities due to japa-risation.

“The reasons advanced are “poor and delayed salaries, unpaid allowances, poor infrastructure and lack of respect for the academic community.

“Hospitals short staffed due to Doctors and nurses Japa-risation to UAE, Canada, US and UK. Now University lecturers follow suit.

“It’s been ongoing for ages in the private sector, no one cared, now it is hitting the public sector (critical to national security.

“This must be addressed as a matter of emergency, not urgency @officialABAT @KashimSM @nassnigeria @HouseNGR.”
