Okonjo Iweala named Forbes’ most powerful woman in Africa

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, has been recognized as the most powerful woman in Africa by Forbes. She secured the 87th spot on Forbes’ Most Powerful Women in the World list, surpassing South African businesswoman Mpumi Madisa at 88th.

Tanzanian President Samia Hassan and Nigerian media mogul Mo Abudu also made the list at 93rd and 98th positions, respectively. The top three spots globally were claimed by Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank, and U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris.
