Wike wants to govern Abuja and Rivers at the same time – Adeyanju

Nigerian rights activist Deji Adeyanju has accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, of attempting to control governance in Rivers State once again. Adeyanju criticized Wike for imposing on Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State what he would not tolerate from others.

The conflict between Wike and Fubara over the state’s political structure led to the burning and subsequent demolition of the House of Assembly complex. Some officials aligned with Wike defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), prompting intervention from President Tinubu, who facilitated a peace pact.

Despite this pact, kidnapping and insecurity have surged in the federal capital city amidst the ongoing rift with Fubara.

According to Adeyanju; “Distracted Wike want to govern Abuja & Rivers at the same time.

“He continues to dish out to Sim Fubara that he will not tolerate from anyone as governor.

“If the reverse was the case, Wike would have demolished Sim Fubara’s houses & prevented him from entering the state.
