Police detain Yahaya Bello’s female ADC after declared wanted by the EFCC
The ADC of the former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has been apprehended and held in custody by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
The female police officer and others were detained in the aftermath of the ex-governor’s eluding capture by EFCC agents on April 17th.
They are suspected of aiding Bello’s evasion from EFCC authorities. The anti-corruption agency had raided Bello’s residence to arrest him on charges of money laundering and financial impropriety during his tenure.
While the Nigeria Police Force has not issued an official statement on the arrests, sources within the police suggest that the officers may face charges related to obstructing justice or conspiring to impede a law enforcement operation.
