Nigeria becoming a failed State, divided under Buhari – Obasanjo

Former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo has expressed that Nigeria is fast drifting into a ‘failed and badly divided state’ under President Muhammadu Buhari.

The former President expressed that this development is as a result of recent “mismanagement of diversity and socio-economic development of our country.”

Obasanjo made this statement while delivering a paper titled “Moving Nigeria Away From Tipping Over’ at a consultative dialogue in Abuja.

The former president expressed that he has never seen Nigeria as divided as it is currently.

He, however, called for concerted efforts of all stakeholders towards “moving Nigeria from tipping over.”

“Today, Nigeria is fast drifting to a failed and badly divided state; economically our country is becoming a basket case and poverty capital of the world, and socially, we are firming up as an unwholesome and insecure country, he said

“And these manifestations are the products of recent mismanagement of diversity and socio-economic development of our country.

“Old fault lines that were disappearing have opened up in greater fissures and with drums of hatred, disintegration and separation and accompanying choruses being heard loud and clear almost everywhere,” he warned.

The security is nothing to write home about and nothing seems Tobe moving and the present government seems not to care instead when they perceive any one as an opponent they start to intimidate the person

  6. The problem buhari administration and co is having is that he do not use to listen to advise or suggestions because if he does things would have changed to better but the reverse is the case. I can’t blame OBJ for saying the truth or for speaking out his mind. Buhari is the one ought to amend his way of governing the country in order let the things fall apart completely in the country. Enough for the wise.

If this obasanjo also have the right things when in power thing would have been better than this but it’s otherwise because baba is looking for 3rd time then. I will just implore buhari not to ignore the words of baba make some adjustments.
