We Are Producing Enough Food For Ourselves - Sabo Nanono 4

The minister for agriculture and rural development has announced that the country is producing enough food for itself and the word ‘hunger’ can be seen as a laughable term when heard from the lips of Nigerians.

These he said at a press briefing to mark the world food day in Abuja. He further stated that the price of food items are fairly cheap when compared to other countries who have turned the country into their dumping ground for expired food items which is the reason for border closure in Nigeria.

His words:

“I think we are producing enough to feed ourselves. I think there is no hunger in Nigeria; there could be inconveniences. When people talk about hunger in this government, I just laugh. In this country, it is fairly cheap to buy food.

I think Nigeria tried to make these neighbouring countries understand our predicament but to no avail. So long as these countries bordering us will not respect Nigeria’s stand on food importation, the borders will remain closed.”
