A young man simply known as Chima has been arrested for allegedly setting his pregnant elder sister, Victoria, ablaze at their residence around CAC Bus Stop in Okokomaiko, Ojo, Lagos state on May 14.
On the day of the incident, the siblings were in the kitchen at the restaurant the family operated together when an argument ensued between mother and daughter.
Their mother had scolded Victoria for leaving their residence to cohabit with men and in the process, Victoria slapped her mother. Chima was said to have attempted fleeing the scene after realising the harm he had done to his sister but was restrained by youths in the community who later handed him over to the police.
It was learnt that their mother who tried to put out the fire also sustained burn injuries on her legs.
