Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi has dismissed claims that the president is not capable of ruling the country.
The chairman of the Governors forum who stated this during an interview on Channels TV, said he meets with the president from time to time and is sure he is fit to rule.
He said this reacting to statements by the PDP caucus in the House of Representatives and some Nigerians who have said the President is incompetent to discharge his duties as President and have called for his impeachment.
According to Fayemi, Nigeria has challenges and the president doesn’t mind the criticisms. He also called on members of the opposition party to be constructive in their criticism.
He said;
“I meet President Muhammadu Buhari from time to time on behalf of my colleagues and there is nothing to suggest that the President is (an) invalid or incapable of delivering on the responsibilities of his office.
“Our country has challenges and let’s deal with the challenges. We may have subjective or objective criticisms of the president, that is within the realms of politics and public service and I am sure the president doesn’t mind that. However, when we want to do it, let’s be constructive. It’s the Office of the President that you are denigrating when you do that; it is not his person.
“If the PDP caucus in the House of Reps feels they are empowered to start an impeachment process, that is their prerogative but the matter of security is beyond partisan politics” he said

Four years will surely complete and the truth of it will come out. As if we don’t have president at all. Let’s look at how things are going in the country? Everything is very hard for average Nigerians, then what are you saying?
When you (leaders) don’t value life, you won’t be saying thrash. Even if we lose a life to insecurities it worths for president to resign not to talk of lives been lost everyday. Selfishness leaders.
