PDP calls on INEC to deregister APC

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deregister the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a party.

The call was made on Tuesday via Twitter by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan following the decision of the APC to dissolve its ward, state, zonal and national structures.

There had been reports that the APC at its NEC meeting held on Tuesday approved the dissolution of all of its party structures across the different levels.

Reacting to the move, PDP called on INEC to deregister the party and declare all its legislative seats vacant.

See the tweet below;

“The APC being overburdened by the weight of failure, humongous corruption as well as the plagues of economic recession, violence, killings and hardship it has brought to our people, forcefully exited itself from the nation’s political firmament by dissolving all its national, zonal and state structures.

“With this exit, December 8, 2020 has gone into the history of our nation as liberation day, especially given the spontaneous jubilation by Nigerians over this step towards political oblivion by a political party that has brought so much pain on them.

“Now that the APC has become defunct, the PDP invites the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to officially deregister the APC and recall its certificate of registration, given that it no longer has operational structures as required by law.

“In the same vein, INEC should immediately declare the seat of all lawmakers elected on the platform of APC at the federal and state levels as vacant and commence the process of bye-election to fill the seats, as required by law.

“Furthermore, government agencies, civil society organizations, as well as the international community, should immediately gazette the APC as a defunct political organization in our country.”

“Leaders of the fizzled APC should get ready to answer Nigerians for their misdeeds, and not to think they can get away with their atrocities by forming or joining another political party”.

  1. The PDP is not in any way acting well as the main opposition party in the country
    They are always wasting time on frivolous talks
    How can they start to tell INEC to deregister the APC. Is it not a joke taken too far

    1. This thing is very simple as ABC…INEC can deregister the All Progressive Congress APC… because they have already mislead Nigerian, look at what is happening everywhere..all this is under the party of APC. I think the chairman for people democratic party PDP has right and he is also saying the fact.

  2. I still don’t understand the motive behind the dissolution of the party structures from the federal to the ward level.

  3. Some of these canals still not relent their efforts, after the dissolution we Sha see what will happen, no qualms for that.

  4. We are still watching what is going to be the end, you have already failed as a party even without the call of the to the INEC to deregister you. Nigerians will automatically deregister you.

  5. This inter and intra party feud can lead you to any where, the one thing that I know very well is that biting fingers that is feeding if you didn’t regret it now you will regret it later.
