”Ghana Election should be an eye opener to Nigeria” – Atiku
Former vice president Atiku Abubakar has applauded Ghana following the smooth transition of their presidential election.
Atiku in a tweet congratulated President Nana Akufo-Addo on his re-election and hoped that Nigeria will learn from Ghana’s smooth election conduction.
He wrote;
“Congratulations to President @NAkufoAddo on his reelection,” Atiku said on Twitter.
“The smooth conduct of the Ghana elections should be an eye-opener to our nation.
“We must undertake far-reaching electoral reforms that address the shortcomings of our previous experiences and strengthens our electoral process.”
Although the Ghanaian election was considered largely peaceful, five people were killed in election-related violence, police said on Wednesday.
The opposition party has also rejected the results and said it will appeal the electoral commission’s decision.
In as much as the violence that always occurs in Nigeria elections did not occur at the same magnitude in Ghana, from this story I still learnt that some persons lost their lives
One begins to wonder why African countries will not record Zero death in their elections
Ghanians had taken step long time ago, if we are to emulate them all the present leaders will go for it.
Can we emulate other countries when doing the right things? I don’t think so because of our bad Belle and selfishness in this country. Other countries excel in doing we are moving backward to 13 century.
What have you done too to make Nigeria forward? You people are just thinking about power and how to embezzle money apart from that nothing else in your thinking.
Unless we retire everyone of you in power and in politics, I don’t think Nigeria will move forward. You have been ruling us more than 4 decade yet you don’t want to leave the stage for the fresh ideas.
Hmmmmm… That is too bad for this country when other small nation’s do better things for themselves…..
