Aisha Yesufu condemns Nigerian govt for using Miyetti Allah to negotiate release of Kankara schoolboys

Aisha Yesufu, Co-convener of the BringBackOurGirls campaign has lambasted the Nigerian Government for employing the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, MACBAN, to negotiate the release of the 333 schoolboys abducted from Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State.

The Governor of Zamfara State, Matawalle on Thursday was quoted to have said the state consulted MACBAN and some repentant bandits to negotiate the boys’ release with no ransom paid.

Reacting to the development, Aisha Yesufu, in a tweet questioned the capacity on which the Fulani organisation was called to act as a middle man.

“Miyetti Allah negotiated with terrorists on behalf of the government. In what capacity? Aisha said.

“Is Miyetti Allah a trained negotiating organisation or a fellow terror organisation with access?. What the heck is going on in Nigeria? How are we comfortable with a supposed ethnic group being the one negotiating with terrorists on behalf of the government.”

  1. Did this present government have anything to offer? No, they don’t. I’m wondering in the first instance, how the bandits have access to that school and operate more than hours without being intimidate. Haba.

  2. The security architectural of the country have cracked since and this present administration are not willing to do anything about it either to amend or correct it.

  3. I don’t think those in the north do not have hand in what is happening in that region because they fond of negotiate with them instead of finding solution to it.

  4. Is there any difference between those called bandits, bokoharam and other terrorist terrorising that region and if care is not taking, those bandits will take over that region completely.

  5. They way things are going in this country is shameful
