My only regret as Minister is that Nigerians do not appreciate this administration – Lai Mohammed
Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has stated that his only regret as minister is that Nigerians do not appreciate that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is doing so much for them.
Mohammed stated this while speaking at a Special Forum of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Monday.
According to him, no government in the history of Nigeria had implemented programs alleviating poverty among women and vulnerable groups as well as created jobs for the youths with little resources as the Buhari administration had done.
“My regret in this government is that Nigerians have failed to appreciate that the government is doing much more with much less,” he said.
“2010 to 2014 crude oil was selling from 100 dollars to 140 dollars per barrel, but the highest we have sold since we came in is 60 dollars.
“Sometimes at the peak of COVID-19 pandemic, we were even paying for storage because nobody wanted to take our crude.
“With the drop in revenues and security challenges this government has not retrenched one person but put in place programs to cushion the effects of the pandemic.”
That’s where you people make a big mistake, you are not the one to praise yourself and let people praise you.
Are you the one to ask us to be praising you or your work is the one to speak for you? You are not the one to tell us to be praising you.
All what you said is not an excuse, all what you need is to let Nigerians feel the dividend of democracy. If you like continue praising yourself.
Locust bean doesn’t praise itself inside soup, until you leave the seat in 2023, then we will now judge you with whatever you left behind.
