“You are a trader, not a CEO” – Nigerian business developer tells ladies selling gowns and wigs on Whatsapp
Nigerian business Developer, Omobaabirin Adedotun, has called out ladies who sells stuff on WhatsApp and refer to themselves as CEO’s.
Adedotun in a tweet via her Twitter handle addressed this issue as she noted that Nigerians abuse the word, Chief Executive Officer. According to her, ladies who sell wigs and clothes on Whatsapp groups should be referred to as Traders.
Her tweets read;
”Let me say this again. CEO means Chief Executive Officer. For there to be a CHIEF amongst the Officers. It means there must be other Officers. If you are selling Gowns on WhatsApp. You are a Trader.
“That’s what you are. If you are selling Wigs, shoes and the likes on WhatsApp. You are a Trader. That’s what you are. It doesn’t take anything from your Enterprenuership Journey but common, we are abusing the word CEO.”

This is serious she may be a CEO of what ever she sells na
So for she’s the owner of her entreprise must it necessarily be a big firm?
It’s just an ordinary English and it’s not our fatherland language then, why disturbing ourselves.
Whether you are the CEO or trader, what we need here is that you are the one controlling your business.
That is your own issue on wether trader, she is controlling his business nothing more.
You better leave him and let him continue with his business on how to expand it more instead of distracting him.

Yes of course…. that’s we’re they normally made a mistake….they didn’t know the difference between CEO and trader. Just tell them so that they will make the corrections.
CEO is chief executive officer of a trade or businesses. Being a CEO is that the business wholly belongs to you no matter what the business is or where you do the business. But you can’t call yourself CEO if your business is not registered with CAC and a certificate given to you. Again you can’t get your business registered with WhatsApp as your physical office. Yes any business owner can call himself/herself CEO but then you’re not recognized as such unless your business is duly registerd
