“I’m Fulani but it makes no sense for cows to be roaming the streets in 2021” Adamu Garba laments

Former Presidential Candidate, Adamu Garba has lamented over the open grazing of cows in the streets of Nigeria.

In a tweet he shared, he attested that even as a Fulani man it doesn’t make sense for cows to be roaming the streets in 2021.

He wrote:

“I’m a Fulani man, but I can tell you that it doesn’t make sense for cows to be roaming the streets in 2021. Cows should be ranched on a land acquired or rented by the ranchers.

“By law, land can only be used through rent or purchase. Govt should step forward & clear this out. I believe, to reconcile the raging herders crisis is to open proper communication where each knows the laws of the land.

”All lands in Nigeria, including forests belongs to some entity, FG, SGs, LGs, Company’s or individuals. Thus no land can be used without proper authorization. The problem of the Fulani herders is a betrayal from the city Fulanis, who decided, after moving to cities, acquiring wealth & power, but forget to carry the village brothers along, leaving them in a desperate situation.

The rich Fulanis must come together & get ranching lands. Land issue is as old as humanity, no any state power can give land to anyone where the land is been identified with owners for generations, without purchasing or renting. The rich Fulani’s must come together & assist our fellow brothers to get reaching land or forest for grazing.

“Lack of proper communication to the herders in understanding the law of land use, by bringing the surrounding communities onboard isn’t good enough. It may well be a breeding ground for a circlical conflicts, a very ripe situation for civil war. This must be avoided AT ALL COST.”

  1. You people need to come together and address this issue or else something bad may happen. Is not by talking and talking

  2. Garba Adamu kindly help us to tell Garba sheu that the land of country doesn’t belong to fulani, they have right to live in anywhere in the country but it must be according to the law of the land.

  3. Those elite in the country are the one fuelling the riot that is happening in the country because of what they are gaining, and also the government doesn’t help the situation at all.

  4. The fulani elite knows that what they are doing is not right but because of selfishness, they don’t to tell illiterate one the truth of the matter.

  5. Government is the one who neglected his Civic responsibility by not doing the right thing, if they have taken drastic measures things won’t degenerate this level.

  6. that is true and a good advice from common sense views but those people are bias base on ethnicity and religion….. they know all this and still fighting for what they knows that is wrong….
