“We will not ban open grazing in South-East” – Dave Umahi tells Nnamdi Kanu
Governor of Ebonyi state, Dave Umahi has stated that open grazing will not be banned in the South-East.
This comes after the leader of the indigenous people of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu had given a 14 day ultimatum to South-East leaders to ban open grazing.
Speaking to news men in Abakaliki, Umahi stated that Nnamdi Kanu has no right to order them on what to do and moreover, he is not an elected official or a prime minister in South East.
He also advised Kanu to stop his actions against Fulani Herdsmen so as not cost Igbos the chance to produce the next president.
“I read the news that Nnamdi kanu gave Eastern Governors 14 days to ban open grazing. What is he trying to achieve? He forget that since a fulani man is in power,there is no way you can go against his brothers and still expect him to give us power.
“What Kanu should be talking about now is 2023 Igbo President not all these unnecessary dusts with herdsmen. I will also advise Nnamdi Kanu not to allow his ignorance to cost Ndi Igbo the chance to produce the next president.
“He is not a politician and have no idea how to play politics. He is not a political leader and have no power to advise us on what to do. If he want to partake as a stake holder, let him pick his gubernatorial ticket in 2023 and contest as Abia governor.
“We are not going to ban open grazing because the herdsmen have Rights to exist anywhere in Nigeria according to the Constitution, he said
Everyone of the politicians are bird of a feather that flocks together. All of them are eyeing 2023 without ready to make life liveable for the citizens.
If you like, ban it or leave them alone, is your land and you are number citizen of that state but remember that safety of your state is in hand.
According to the law of the land, they have right to live in anywhere in the country but they have right to tormenting anybody.
Everything is left to you and your peoples lives is in your hands, I will just implore you not to play with their lives and properties.
