BREAKING: Buhari extends IGP Adamu’s tenure

President Muhammadu Buhari has extended the tenure of Mohammed Adamu as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for three months.

The development was announced on Thursday by the Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammad Dingyadi at the presidential villa, Abuja on Thursday.

He said the extension was necessary to give room for the proper selection of a successor.

IGP Adamu was due to retire from the police last Monday having spent the maximum 35 years in service.

  1. This is the one of the problem we are having in the country, why can’t they search for his replacement before his expiration of his tenure.

  2. Our leaders are not prepared for anything, you have known that his retirement is near, why can’t you find his replacement before then.

  3. Hmm, Nigeria my country without unprepared leadership, just tell us that you still want him to stay for more six or one year.

  4. I think the next person to take over from him is Southerner that is why he doesn’t want to hand over to him.

  5. this administration is just not serious at all…. out of all the available candidate you can’t choose one but to extend this useless man tenure…..

  6. As what? What has he done that his tenure has to be extended. Are there no competent person persons in the police?
